Safety Curtains, Rigid and Roller

These are just a few of the safety curtain projects carried out by ASG, many of which also formed part of major stage refurbishment schemes. All safety curtains can divide the stage from the auditorium within 30-seconds in the event of a fire, and the covering fabric is rated to at least 1-hour fire integrity. Fabrics can also be painted if required, with general text, decorative pictures or advertising, or even used for projecting images.

Steel-framed rigid safety curtains are counterweighted and usually covered with sheet steel to the rear, with glass-fibre flameproofed fabric on the face. Roller safety curtains use the same type of fabric, but operate similar to a large roller blind, for when flying height is restricted, although a 2-piece rigid curtain can also be used. All safety curtains have side guides, smoke seals, a hoist, control release panels and often a water drencher system. We often refurbish older systems with new hoists or fabrics, and if required we can arrange for the removal of old asbestos fabric - obviously complying with all relevant regulations.
