Access Equipment : Portable or Fixed

Access equipment doesn't only mean a straight ladder or scaffold tower. Electric and hydraulic personnel lifts can be used, also tallescopes and skymaster or maintenance ladders. In addition, specially designed equipment such as lighting bridges can be fixed at high level and accessed from cat ladders or proper routes, and gantries or grids can cover an entire performance area. Access equipment itself can of course be lowered by a variety of means, whether individual items or a complete performance space.

Raise and lower equipment will also assist with DDA regulations, allowing access equipment to be hung, demonstrated and maintained from low level. But always remember that stage lanterns are best focussed when at high level, so some form of high level access equipment is still recommended.
