Drama and Dance Studios

Drama and dance studios are found in almost every high school, college and academy, and even in some community venues or leisure centres. It is also common for single studios to be dual purpose. Typical drama equipment would include tracks and curtains to create a "black box" space, also with lighting rigs, sound, portable staging and sometimes projection. In a multi-purpose hall, the drama studio may even double as a stage area!

Dance studios benefit from lighting and sound, with ballet barres, posture mirrors and masking curtains. It is of course possible to make a dance studio, gym or sports hall into a multipurpose theatre space, with clever use of retractable or flying equipment - and a "dance studio" may even be a professional performance space.
