Hand-line rope sets provide a quick and simple
means of manually raising and lowering lightweight scenery and masking curtains,
which makes it possible to change scenes quickly and efficiently. This is
why rope sets are installed in almost every theatre and community hall in
the Country. The principals are simple, with several fibre ropes running via
pulleys, tied-off to an aluminium barrel or scenery flat at one end, and to
a twin cleat rail at the other.
