Following the success of the International Garden
Festival in Liverpool the Festival Hall was transformed into a
'Giant Magic Garden' although it is unfortunately no longer in
use. Everything in the garden is twelve times larger than life
and provides all the facilities imaginable in a perfect garden
and more!
We were involved with various design and manufacturing
aspects of this ambitions project, including the painted Cyclorama
wall depicting the typical English Garden. The painted wall is
a conventional scenic canvas made in sections, painted in our
works and then joined and installed on site. The whole cloth,
which follows the curvature of the building is on raise and lower
gear and can be lowered for maintenance, also the rainbow bridge
forward to the cloth is of a conventional steel structure with
steps clad in timber and painted to create a rainbow, offering
an excellent panoramic view of the garden. The remaining areas
comprise of a tree root, garden wall, inflatable play equipment,
slides, toys, garden shed and tools, also many other interesting
features, all twelve times life size.
