Stage equipment, Portable staging, stage design UK

Following the much-publicised IRA bomb damage, ASG installed the new mechanical rigging systems in one of the most unique theatres in the UK, housed in what was once Manchester Stock Exchange, in conjunction with consultants Theatre Projects. The main theatre module resembles a moon lander more than a performance space, and is supported only from adjacent columns and not the floor, making it ideal for theatre-in-the-round as most of the audience is raised above the performers on circular balconies. All of our works were specially designed to suit the project and included winch systems for 'angel wings' used for lighting and access, stainless steel hauling and support equipment for shaped roof doors, raise and lower gear for the central lighting gantry, also multi-directional rotating pulley blocks, rope sets and winch sets for the secondary flexible studio space.

Ocean, Hackney, London

Ocean is a multi-million pound music venue conversion of the old Methodist Hall, with a state of the art sound system for which ASG installed all bespoke mechanical and electrical rigging systems in the main auditorium, in conjunction with consultants TechPlan. These included high level rolling winch operated frameworks to support large speaker clusters, chain hoists fed by electrical bus bars and multiple socket outlets, low voltage remote control systems, a raise and lower pallet cage to transport equipment from low level to the balcony, also various tracks and curtains. In addition, wheeled, static and hinged shaped cages protect the multitude of speakers around the stage and balcony areas.
